Read a Phone Auction Manifest Before You Bid

Direct answer

A public model percentage can be the wrong count if the line items are behind a login. Record the summary, the seller restrictions, and the variance sentence, and leave every unseen row blank.

Updated October 2026.

A public model percentage can be the wrong count if the line items are behind a login.

Record the summary you can see, the seller restrictions, and the variance sentence. Leave every row you have not opened blank.

This guide uses an ended B-Stock listing and B-Stock’s seller manifest template as a worked example. The rest of the import file sits with the phone-sourcing guides.

Copy the public summary, then verify the signed-in manifest. Listing 6AA46-LC2-GN0E on B-Stock ended on 2 October 2026, showing a manifest summary of 3 units, a closing bid of $1,475, and model shares of 33.3% for Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Ultra, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Account sign-in is required for the full manifest rows, fee-inclusive pricing, and landed cost. The listing states a possible 5% variance in value, unit count, and/or condition, and excludes disputes inside that variance. B-Stock’s seller guide notes that listing photos may be stock images or examples, and that stated retail values are unverified estimates. Record storage-to-model pairing, line quantities, and buyer fees only after downloading the complete manifest file.

Item What the opened pages show Why it matters
Listing 6AA46-LC2-GN0E, ended 10/02/26, Irving, Texas, US A dated public page, not stock this site is selling
Summary count 3 units A summary figure, not a line-item quantity
Displayed bid $1,475 current bid Fees and landed cost were behind sign-in
Models Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S25 Ultra, 33.3% each The shares do not assign storage or carrier
Storage 1TB, 256GB, and 512GB, 33.3% each Pairing with a model was not in the public text
Carrier T-Mobile 33.3%; Verizon 33.3% No other carrier was named in the capture
Condition Unspecified The template’s condition dropdown was not filled on the public page
Seller grade A+ The template’s phone grades are A, B, C, D, and E, with no A+ definition in the text we read
Full manifest Headers visible; rows behind sign-in No IMEI and no per-line quantity were in the capture
Retail value Estimates, not verified by B-Stock A dispute about the retail figure is refused
Variance A possible 5% on value, unit count, and/or condition The base number for that 5% is not shown
Three unbranded handsets, a blank sheet, and a closed folder on a worn wooden table.
Public auction summaries display aggregate model percentages, while SKU-level storage and carrier pairings require the full manifest file.

What can you read before you sign in?

The public page showed a summary and the column headers. It did not show the line items.

The title on that page was “Samsung Mixed Models, Mixed Carriers, Grade A+ Spot Auction.” Category was Cell Phones. Inventory type was Mixed/Other. Condition was Unspecified. Seller grade was A+. The manifest summary was 3 units. Location was Irving, Texas, US. The page displayed “ENDED ON 10/02/26,” which on this US marketplace is 2 October 2026. Two bids and 219 views were also on the page. Those counts describe that ended listing. They are not a measure of stock you can buy from this article.

Model shares were Galaxy S24 33.3%, Galaxy S24 Ultra 33.3%, and Galaxy S25 Ultra 33.3%. Capacity shares were 1TB 33.3%, 256GB 33.3%, and 512GB 33.3%. If each 33.3% model share were applied to the summary count of 3, each share would be about one unit. That multiplication uses two public figures and assumes the percentages describe those 3 units. The line-item quantities were behind sign-in, so the sheet does not record one phone of each model.

The public carrier line names T-Mobile at 33.3% and Verizon at 33.3% without naming the remaining share. Verify the third unit’s carrier status directly in the full line-item manifest rather than assuming a third carrier name.

The same gap sits between storage and model. Three capacities at 33.3% do not say which capacity is on which Galaxy model. A mix without a count on each line is the record problem in mixed-SKU phone orders.

The full-manifest headers visible without the rows were Category, Subcategory, Brand, Model, Seller Category, Condition, and Seller Grade. The page said you need to be signed in to see the full listing details and to bid.

Takeaway: Write the percentages as percentages. The “about one unit” step is an assumption, and it stays off the confirmed-quantity line.

Which template field answers each buyer question?

B-Stock’s US auction submission guide defines a manifest as an inventory catalog of line items (mobile template revision 01/18/2022).

The named line fields are Category, Item Description, Qty, Retail Per Unit, Total Retail, and Condition. Manufacturer, Model, and UPC can be added. Storage and carrier are not required columns in that list. They can sit in the description or in a column the seller adds. The guide says that custom columns included in the manifest title are visible once the file is downloaded.

Retail Per Unit is MSRP or an estimated original retail price. Total Retail is calculated from the file. The top of the same guide says stated retail values are estimates only and are not verified by B-Stock. Disputes about retail values and images will not be accepted.

Photos may be stock images, examples of merchandise, or the merchandise itself. The guide says to ask the seller when that is unclear.

Buyer question Template field On this public listing Still blank
Model Manufacturer, Model, Item Description Samsung; Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S25 Ultra, 33.3% each Line quantity for each model
Storage Not a required column 1TB, 256GB, 512GB, 33.3% each Which capacity is on which model
Carrier Not a required column T-Mobile 33.3%; Verizon 33.3% Any carrier the capture did not name; lock per unit
Condition Condition dropdown Unspecified The dropdown value
Quantity Qty Summary of 3 units Line-item quantity
Seller grade Mobile grade, separate from the condition name A+ A template grade, because A+ is not defined in the list below
Retail per unit Retail Per Unit The estimate, once the file shows it

Cell-phone lots on that guide can use only New, Used - Good, Used - Fair, and Salvage. If a manifest contains more than one condition, the listing is placed under the lowest condition present.

Scroll horizontally to view all columns.
Label in the guide What the guide says Cell-phone lots
New Unsold merchandise with no signs of use Listed as available
Like New Unsold merchandise with minimal signs of handling Not in the cell-phone condition list
Refurbished Repaired to full functionality, and may show wear unless the listing says otherwise Not in the cell-phone condition list
Used - Good Signs of use, sellable without repairs Available. Mobile grade A or B
Used - Fair Heavy signs of use, likely to need repair before resale Available. Mobile grade C, D, or E
Salvage Significant repairs, or parts only Available. The only condition for a user-locked device

User-locked devices can be listed only as Salvage. The guide’s examples are remote, FMIP, and iCloud locks. Carrier-locked devices can be listed in any grade. The Europe supply guide (mobile template updated 01/19/2022) repeats that user-lock requirement.

The ended listing’s seller grade is A+ and its condition is Unspecified. The grade letters in the guide are A and B for Used - Good, and C, D, and E for Used - Fair. The guide text we read does not define A+. Keep A+ in the seller-grade cell. Leave the template grade empty. A scale you apply after you see the phones is a separate record: wholesale phone grading.

Functionality on the guide is an auction-level field: Working, Not Working, Mostly Functional, Untested, or Mixed/Other. Mostly Functional means the majority is fully functional and some is partly or not functional, and the exact ratio cannot be guaranteed. This listing did not show a functionality value. Leave it empty. Inventory type Mixed/Other is one of the guide’s labels, along with Overstock, Customer Returns, Refurbished, Shelf Pulls, Warehouse Damaged, and Outlet Displays/Samples. Mixed/Other does not say which of those others are in the lot.

Takeaway: If the template has no column for the question, the answer is not hiding in a grade letter. Leave the cell empty until the file or the seller writes it.

What restrictions were printed on this listing?

The restrictions below are sentences from listing 6AA46-LC2-GN0E. They are not a rule for every phone auction.

Devices must be resold within the United States and must be shipped to the address on the order details. S Pens are typically included but not guaranteed. The inventory is device only: no backs, cords, chargers, batteries, or watch bands if applicable. Product images are for representation only, and the items may vary in color, design, or condition. There might be a 5% variance in the value, unit count, and/or condition listed, and disputes within that variance will not be accepted.

The 5% sentence does not show the base it uses, and it does not show a revised unit count. Leave the allowed count empty.

The guide’s packaging labels are Original, Open Box, No Packaging, Damaged, Non-Original, and Mixed. Mixed packaging has no guaranteed ratio. This listing’s public text did not show one of those packaging labels. The device-only sentence is the description. Write it on the description row, not as a packaging code you did not see.

Three unbranded handsets on a worn wooden table, with no cables or chargers beside them.
Device-only auction lots exclude retail boxes, charging bricks, and cables from the unit bid calculation.

The summary location is Irving, Texas, US. The resale sentence points at the address on the order details. That address was behind sign-in. The city on the summary is not a substitute for it.

Takeaway: File each restriction under the listing that printed it. A 5% clause without a base is not a new quantity.

What arithmetic is safe while fees are hidden?

The page showed a current bid of $1,475 and a summary of 3 units. It said to sign in for fee-inclusive pricing and the total landed cost.

Dividing 1,475 by 3 gives 491.666…, which is $491.67 when rounded to the cent. That quotient uses only those two public numbers. It is not a unit price. It assumes the displayed bid is the whole cost and that all 3 summary units are units you can resell. Fees and landed cost were withheld, the variance sentence does not supply a revised count, and the auction had already ended.

Scroll horizontally to view all columns.
Input Figure we read What stays off the unit-cost line
Displayed current bid $1,475 A fee-inclusive price
Summary units 3 A line-item quantity
1,475 divided by 3 $491.67, arithmetic on this page only A unit cost
Fees and landed cost Behind sign-in Any number you have not seen
After the 5% clause No revised count on the page A replacement quantity

Leave the unit-cost line blank until fee-inclusive pricing is on the page you are bidding. When that total is actually in front of you, charges that sit outside it can go into the landed-cost calculator. Do not enter $491.67 there.

Takeaway: Label the division as division. The unit-cost line stays blank.

What do you write on the discrepancy sheet?

One row per question. The middle column is for a downloaded row or a seller sentence you have in hand. If you do not have it, leave the middle column empty.

Resale United States, on this listing; ship to the order address The order address, and any other listing’s rule
Photos Representative; color, design, or condition may vary Whether the photo is the unit
Unit check Power, locks, and identifiers

Power, locks, and identifiers are not on the auction page we read. They belong on the bulk phone QC checklist after a unit can be opened. A representative photo does not fill that list.

One unbranded handset, a closed envelope, and a blank sheet on a worn wooden table.
Final landed cost per handset requires adding buyer fees, freight, and variance exposure to the closing bid.

Takeaway: An empty cell is the right entry when the file or the unit has not been opened.

When this sheet does not apply

Use a different record in these cases.

  • The file is a shipping manifest, a customs manifest, or a software package list. This sheet is an auction catalog of phones.
  • The lot in front of you is a different listing. Do not paste these 3 units, this $1,475 bid, this A+ label, or this United States sentence onto it.
  • You want a resale margin. Neither page we used states a margin for this lot.
  • You need IMEIs. Sign-in was required, and no identifier was in the text we read.

Takeaway: The example is one ended page. A new listing starts with empty rows again.

Reference sources and scope

The public fields, the variance clause, the device-only note, and the $1,475 closing bid come from B-Stock listing 6AA46-LC2-GN0E (ended 2 October 2026). Full line-item rows require marketplace sign-in.

Condition names, the cell-phone limit to New, Used - Good, Used - Fair, and Salvage, the A through E grades, the user-lock salvage rule, the retail-value warning, and the photo warning come from B-Stock’s US auction submission guide (mobile template dated 01/18/2022) and Europe auction submission guide (mobile template dated 01/19/2022). The $491.67 figure represents $1,475 divided by 3 units before buyer fees and shipping.

Key takeaways

  • Write the public percentages as percentages. Do not convert them into unit rows you have not downloaded.
  • Seller grade A+ on the ended listing is a different label from grade A or B on the seller template.
  • A representative photo and an estimated retail value are not a unit you have checked.
  • Dividing the displayed bid by the summary count is arithmetic, not a unit price, while fees stay hidden.
  • The United States resale sentence belongs to the listing that printed it.
Accept means the condition is already true. Clarify means a field is still open. Reject means the error is still on the record.

Frequently asked questions

Which document controls if the public summary and the downloaded file disagree?

The ended listing says to see the full manifest for product information, and it also prints a possible 5% variance in value, unit count, and/or condition. Disputes inside that variance are refused. The page does not say the public percentages override the file, or the reverse, outside that sentence. Write both figures down and leave the controlling document blank until the seller names it.
